Parental Control Configurations

This page is used to configure a parental control system that automatically sends an email notification to a parent or guardian when a user (child) below a specified age interacts with the system. The configuration includes defining the age threshold, specifying how to identify the parent's contact details from user data, and creating the full content of the notification email.

How to Create and Edit a Control Configuration

From the Configuration > Parental Control Configurations List in the Back Office (BO), a list of all Control Configurations can be accessed.

To create a new one, select the Parental Control Config. . Create option located in the RELATED TASKS section on the right side of the screen.

The following screen will be displayed:

1 .Status: This section controls whether the parental control rule is active.

• Active : A set of radio buttons to enable or disable the rule.

  • On: The rule is active and will be enforced.

  • Off: The rule is inactive.

2. Configuration: This section defines the conditions for the parental control trigger.

• Name : A mandatory field for the name of the parental control configuration.

• Child younger than: A mandatory numeric field to set the age threshold. The rule applies to any user younger than this age.

• Parent's first name: A mandatory dropdown menu to select the data field that contains the parent's first name.

• Parent's last name : A mandatory dropdown menu to select the data field that contains the parent's last name.

• Parent's email: A mandatory dropdown menu to select the data field that contains the parent's email address.

3. Email content: This section is used to define the content of the notification email sent to the parent.

• From: A mandatory dropdown to select the sender profile ("From" address) for the email.

• Subject: A mandatory field for the email's subject line.

• HTML Body: A mandatory field for the rich text (HTML) version of the email body.

• PLAIN Body: A field for the plain text version of the email, used by email clients that do not support HTML.

The following steps should be followed to edit a Control Configuration

• Configuration - Parental Control Configurations List

• Select a row and press Parental Control Config. View

• Click on Edit Panel Control Configuration.
