How to setup and use Facebook Ads
Get Facebook Access Token
Request Access
Request access from the client to their Facebook Business Account. If they do not have one, it will need to be created at https://business.facebook.com/
Note: Real data is required to create a Business Ad Account.
Create a Facebook App
Create a new Facebook App at https://developers.facebook.com/apps/.
Link Ad Account
Within the Facebook App dashboard, link the Ad Account to the App. Refer to the official guide for detailed steps: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/303269370149084.
Add Marketing API
From the App dashboard, add the "Marketing API" product. Navigate to Marketing API > Tools.
Generate Access Token
In the "Tools" section, select the following permissions under "SELECT TOKEN PERMISSIONS": ads_management and ads_read. After selecting, click "GET TOKEN".
Provide Connection Details
Provide the generated access token and the Facebook App ID to the Thalamus Team for connection setup, using the following parameters:
facebook.ads.access_token=EAAZAp6K3RbZB4B....facebook.ads.account_id=10385070...facebook.ads.debug_mode=true(Use this parameter for testing purposes to enable more detailed logging.)

Create an Ad
Access Ads Manager
The Facebook Ads Manager is accessible at https://www.facebook.com/ads/manager/.
Select Ad Account
The Ad Account under which the new ad will be created must be selected.
Create a Campaign: Go to the "Campaigns" tab and click "Create".
The campaign details, such as the campaign objective (e.g., "Brand Awareness") and time zone, must be entered.
Create an Ad Set:
A name for the ad set must be provided.
Audience: The target audience needs to be defined. An existing one can be selected, or a new "Custom Audience" can be created.
To create a new custom audience from a file:
Select "Create New" > "Custom Audience."
The option to upload a user file is to be chosen.
The provided template needs to be downloaded.
The
.csvfile is to be populated with audience data.The file must be uploaded and data mappings confirmed.
The new audience should be saved with a name.
Placement: The ad's placement is to be selected.
Budget: A budget for the ad set needs to be set.
Create an Ad
A name for the ad is to be provided.
Identity: The Facebook Page or entity that will be displayed as the source of the ad is to be selected.
Content: The ad format is to be selected and the creative content uploaded.
Confirm
All settings should be reviewed and confirmed to launch the ad.
